Youth Activities & Leadership Opportunities
Service and Outreach Projects (locally, nationally, and globally)
Our 6th-9th Confirmation Youth and Guides collected non-perishable food items on October 5th for Zion’s annual Trick or Can food drive. Working together, the congregation and Zion’s youth brought in 2,129.6 pounds of food. (507+ more pounds than LAST YEAR!) Zion Youth and Guide also stocked the shelves at the Lord’s Cupboard food pantry after the food drive.
Annual Western ND LYO Synod Gathering
In October, twenty-nine 9th-12th graders from Zion attended the Western ND LYO Synod Gathering in Minot. They enjoyed music, participated in interactive sessions, helped clean up the zoo, laughed and spent time together. This is always a highlight of the Fall!

2017 Mission Trip: Blackfeet, Montana
A brief overview of the trip: Sunday we loaded the van around 7am and made it to Heart Butte, Montana in time for supper (Thank you time-change). Monday-Thursday our days looked pretty similar starting out the morning with devotions and ending in a large group time followed by church group time. During the day, we had two groups doing different things. One group was with Kid’s Club all week which meant running different stations for the youth who attended (kind of like vacation bible school) the other group got to be with Kid’s Club Monday and Tuesday, then helped paint fences. In the evenings, we were able to experience different cultural things. Monday night an elder from the community came and talked to us about the history of the Blackfeet People followed by a drum circle. Tuesday night we did a blanket exercise and had a good conversation with the Youth Works Staff. Wednesday evening we were able to spend some time in Glacier National Park, Thursday we helped serve the community during a neighborhood cook-out.
