Leader and Host Job Descriptions

The purpose of Zion LIFE Groups is to foster meaningful relationships between people on the journey of faith.


Zion LIFE (Living in Faith Everyday) Groups are:
  • People who meet in homes with a designated LIFE Group Host 
  • Groups of 8-12 people 
  • “Sermon Chats,” which are guided conversations based around the previous week’s sermo
    n and scripture readings led by a designated LIFE Group Leader 
  • Weekly gatherings for six weeks during the season of Lent (March & April) 

Zion LIFE Group Host
Hosts provide the space and the hospitality for the weekly gathering. 
Requirements: 
Someone who enjoys hosting people.
Able to provide a clean comfortable environment. This does not necessarily need to be in your home.
Have a space big enough to hold 8-12 people.
Able to provide refreshments or organize the group to take turns. This can be as simple or as elaborate as you want.

Duties and Responsibilities: 
Attend a training session.
Work with LIFE Group Leader to determine child care needs of the group. Suggested childcare options will be provided at training.
Work with LIFE Group Leader to set the regular meeting time.
Be an active member of the LIFE Group.


Zion LIFE Groups Leader
Leaders facilitate the discussion of the weekly gathering.
Requirements:
Someone who enjoys facilitating discussion.
A good listener
Confident speaking to a small group of people.
You don’t need to be an expert, but be willing to help the group explore questions.

Duties and Responsibilities
Attend a training session.
Work with LIFE Group Host to determine child care needs of the group. Suggested childcare options will be provided at training.
Work with LIFE Group Host to set the regular meeting time.
Facilitate discussion based on “Sermon Chat” homework provided by Pastors.
Attend worship or be able to listen to the sermon prior to weekly gathering.
Pray for your group and with your group.
Pass on questions or concerns to Pastors.
